The Reading Room is the focal point of our library, which houses 16,000 books and materials. The children’s area has a box of toys and board books to entertain little ones while older brothers and sisters are picking out easy readers, beginning readers, and first chapter books.
The juvenile and young adult section contains fiction, non-fiction, biographies and encyclopedias.
The remainder of the reading room consists of the public access computer center and the adult reading area, which includes fiction, non-fiction, biographies, magazines, newspapers, reference, and special collections.
The walls are adorned with portraits of the Stastny and Dvoracek families. Above the stacks are pictures of Czech leaders and scenes of life in Czechoslovakia. Several display cases feature sculptures, some by local artists.
